CJAR is governed by a Board of Trustees who are all volunteers, animal lovers and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of domestic pets, including community cats.
Theresa Spataro – President
Theresa is an animal lover and lifetime resident of New Jersey. She resides in a home owned by three rescue cats, Charlie, Ziggy, and Sweetie Pie, who is FIV+, and hosted more than 100 foster cats and kittens. She is a certified NJ State Animal Control Officer with extensive volunteer experience in animal welfare; Trap, Neuter and Return, grant writing, and animal care. To feed the cats, Theresa works in Higher Education, enjoys the outdoors, sports and anything Cat!
Lisa Revel – Treasurer
Lisa started volunteering in 2002. Over the years she has volunteered at shelters and rescue groups. In the past she has served in the positions of Board President, Board Secretary, Volunteer Coordinator and Foster Coordinator. She also worked with a local food bank and was able to set up a pet food pantry. Lisa has been fostering kittens for more years than she can remember, and she loves it! Several years ago, wanting to help stop the influx of cats that enter shelters, Lisa got involved with a Trap, Neuter and Return, program and she currently helps care for a colony of outdoor cats that have all been spayed and neutered. Lisa is a Software Development Team Lead at AT&T. Lisa lives with her husband Pat and their cats, Martha and Ragan, both fosters that were adopted.
Loretta Windas – Secretary
Loretta has been an advocate for animals since the age of 11 when she wrote a letter to the editor of her local newspaper regarding the Bureau of Land Management’s roundups of wild horses. She has served as a volunteer District Leader for the Humane Society of the United States, a role in which she developed a love of lobbying state and Federal representatives on animal welfare legislation; created an Animal Advisory Committee in her town to assist residents with animal questions and issues, and has seven years’ experience in animal sheltering working at the Monmouth County SPCA.
